A Visionary Engineer with Cross-Sector Expertise in Optical Systems

John Park’s career reflects a rare blend of technical depth and crossdisciplinary expertise, spanning gas monitoring, traffic sensing, fiber optics and photonic design. Early in his career, he made notable contributions at General Monitors and Iteris, Inc., developing gas monitoring and fiber optic solutions, respectively. At Bell Labs Lucent Technologies, he further refined his fiber optics expertise and established a strong foundation in advanced photonic design.

Before joining Alcon, Park served as application engineering manager at MKS Instruments, where he supported global instrumentation initiatives focused on precision, repeatability and scalability. His earlier role at Newport Corporation as new product development manager saw him lead the successful launch of spectroscopy tools tailored for demanding R&D environments.
